Ieva Andersone comes originally from Latvia. Last 5 years artist lives and studies in Ireland. At the moment she study in Dublin Institute of Technology 3 year BA Fine Art.

The paintings have nothing to do with the articulation of theoretical conventions, of painting itself, but they have a different intention. Intellectuals are far more endangered than ordinary people or artists. They're intelligent, very good with handling words and therefore brilliant at constructing theories, and they share in the overwhelming power of words. Almost everything is prompted, forbidden, or authorized by words; explained, transfigured, or falsified by words. So we ought to be sceptical, and not forget that there's another, highly important kind of experience. Her paintings are immediately notable for restraint and elegance of their colour and composition. In the passage from light to shade, different in every object, each colour unfolds its scale of values in imperceptible to steps. Solid forms emerge from deep shadow and light trough subtle shifts of transparent tones to luminous pigment.
